We are thrilled to announce Project New Future, an innovative and sustainable community development that redefines how we live, work, and connect.
Our vision is to purchase a 2-hectare (or larger) plot of land and create a vibrant, off-grid community where people can thrive together while maintaining their independence and privacy. We are currently considering land near Pretoria.
A New Way of Living
This development will be based on the principle that humans should live interdependently with each other. not completely independently but also not co-dependently. We need each other, but we also need our privacy and alone time. Somethings should be owned individually, but it makes more sense to own other things collectively or to pay per use for things that are only used occasionally.
The community will have a community centre in the middle with shared resources, facilities, tools, and social spaces. Surrounding this hub, residents will have designated plots to park their tiny homes, caravans, or alternative eco-friendly dwellings for long-term living.
The Three Core Zones
✅ Residential – Private and semi-private living spaces for individuals and families.
✅ Commercial – Shared workspaces, co-working offices, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
✅ Agricultural – Organic farming and food production for self-sufficiency and community health.
What Makes Project New Future Unique?
It will be a normal property development but with the following.
✔ Shared resources – Lower costs, reduced private ownership, and increased efficiency.
✔ A connected community – Reducing loneliness and isolation while maintaining personal space.
✔ Self-sufficiency – Reduced reliance on governments and corporations and more suf-reliance and independence.
✔ Health and vitality – Fresh, locally-grown produce for a better quality of life.
Phase 1: Building the Foundation
In the start-up phase, we will have containers for the community centre and resources while the actual community centre is built. There will be four containers with the following functionality.
🚰 Container 1 – Water pumping, filtration, heating, energy generation, storage, and distribution.
🍽 Container 2 – A shared kitchen with a covered dining area.
🔧 Container 3 – A fully-equipped workshop and storage space.
🚿 Container 4 – Bathrooms with toilets and showers.
Sustainable Funding Model
People will stay around these 4 containers with their tents/caravans. While they stay there in their temporary accommodation, they build their more permanent tiny homes either in containers, large trailers, or out of natural material.
Monthly levies are charged to pay back the financing used to set up the infrastructure.
